Help! How do I resize a photo?

We’ve all been there. You upload your profile picture to social media and it cuts off your head. Maybe you put a picture of staff in your banner and it ends up featuring everyone’s chests. Very professional!

Here’s a quick way to resize an image down to the pixel using MS Paint.

  1. Find the image to resize in its folder and right click on it
  2. Hover over “Open with” and a submenu will appear
  3. Select “Paint”
  4. Click the “Resize” button

Resize button in MS Paint

  1. A new pop-up menu will appear. Click the “By:” to “Pixels” and enter your preferred size. Be sure “Maintain aspect ratio” is checked so you don’t get warped.
  2. Click “Okay”

  1. IMPORTANT: Click “File” and “Save as” to save this as an additional copy so you don’t mess with your original!

Note: If you don’t have a good enough quality picture, making it bigger will make it fuzzier (bad resolution). Use a better-quality picture.
