Pelvic Floor Outcomes Pilot
6/19/2007
Beginning July 2, 2007, CareConnections will begin testing a Pelvic Floor Outcomes tool for inclusion in the CareConnections Outcomes System. This new tool will allow clinicians to track outcomes information for conditions relating to Incontinence, Urinary/Fecal Urgency, and Pelvic/Perineal Pain. Since the question set and dynamic of this patient population differ from standard PT/OT, results of this project will be reported back to participants separately from other PT/OT outcomes.
Collection of data will differ slightly from other CareConnections outcomes tools. To assess the appropriateness of each question, we will collect information on each question asked on the worksheet. A functional score will still be tabulated from questions 1-10, but we will also look at individual patient answers for initial and discharge assessments. All results can be input on the CareConnections Web site.
During phase I, we will collect as much data as possible using the pilot form. Once an adequate number of records have been received for analysis, we will begin assessing validity and reliability of each question to determine if the questions are appropriate for the patient population. Based on results, we may consider re-wording questions or replacing them with new questions.
If you are interested in participating, you may download the Pelvic Floor Worksheet by logging into your CareConnections Account and clicking on the Patient Worksheets link. From there, select the outcomes worksheet titled, “Pelvic Floor.” Note that this will not be available on the CareConnections site until July 2, 2007.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or other feedback during the pilot process, we welcome you to send an email message to with the subject line, “Pelvic Floor Outcomes Pilot.”
