Changes On The Horizon For CareConnections
8/30/2010
In 2005, CareConnections changed its name from TAOS (Therapeutic Associates Outcomes System) to CareConnections. Along with this change came a new web site to support the CareConnections family of products. These products include the Outcomes System, Patient Satisfaction System, Prior Advice/Authorization System, Clinical Practice Guidelines, and Therapy Referral Handbook. In the five years since this change, we have received continual feedback from our users about what they like and dislike about the CareConnections web site and the forms that drive the Outcomes System. In response to this feedback, and in the interest of keeping our products current with changes in technology and outcomes research, CareConnections will soon introduce two system-wide changes of which users should be aware. These changes go into effect in 2011. First, the CareConnections web site is being re-designed with new functionality and a new platform that will be more compatible with the many web browsers in use on the internet today. Second, the CareConnections Functional Index form used in the Outcomes System will be updated with a new scale for measuring perceived improvement. The scale currently labeled “Improvement Index” will be replaced with a scale called the Global Rating of Change (GRC).
